A 6th plate measures 3.25" x 2.75"
The outfit is fabulous, the face not so much. Could she be Austrian? I recall seeing this type of head dress on prints of Austrian ladies of this era but I could be wrong. Does anyone know & could tell us? The dress must have taken eons of time to stitch. I fits the the the lady's perfect figure like a glove. She has seen some hardship, just look at the bags under her eyes. The spit curls don't quite soften her expression.
The dag is American, it comes in a common half case. It was resealed a few years ago by a professional. Beautiful contrast and sharp focus.
