Double Deck Brown & Bigelow (Redislip) "Mondale / Ferraro" Playing Cards, Minnesota AFL-CIO, c.1984
Mint, sealed double deck of cards made by Brown & Bigelow for the Minnesota AFL-CIO, to promote the union’s endorsement of the Mondale/Ferraro Presidential ticket in 1984. The backs of the cards have an illustration of Mondale and Ferraro with the words “Fair Play Will Prevail” below it. The phrase may have had some significance to the AFL-CIO in 1984; I do not believe that it was a slogan used in the Mondale/Ferraro Campaign. Presumably these are standard B&B cards, with 52 cards, plus 2 Redislip Jokers in each deck. They are bridge size cards, measuring 89mm x 58mm. They come in a hard plastic box that may be original.
As noted, the cards are mint and sealed. The box is in excellent condition, “as new” or nearly so.
