Parker Brothers "Lindy, The New Flying Game" Card Game, c.1927

In 1927 Charles Lindbergh accomplished his historic solo air crossing of the Atlantic Ocean and immediately became one of the most famous men in the world. His achievement spawned 2 card games in that year, one made by Nucraft Toys called "The New Lindy Flying Game" and the other published by Parker Brothers called "Lindy, the New Flying Game." The item here for sale is the Parker Brothers game. The idea of the game is a race between aviators and the object is to score 3200 miles. As in "Touring," a game first made by Wallie Dorr Company in 1906 and picked up by Parker Brothers in 1925, Lindy has mileage cards and move and event cards that impact the mileage count.

The game is complete at 99 cards, 51 of them mileage cards and 48 of the move and event type. Included with the cards is a rules/instruction paper insert. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm, with square corners and solid pink backs, made on thick stock. They come in the original box.

The cards and box are in superb condition, "as new" or very nearly so. The instruction insert is in very good condition, very clean but with slight tears developing at the folds and slight "wrinkles."

Thanks for visiting.
