Rudolf Bechtold and Co. “Spielkarte für Schützen” (“Shooters Playing Cards”) Skat Playing Cards, Designs by Karl Heinz Lanz, August Kaulbach, Fritz Uhlich, c.1966

Wonderful skat deck made by Rudolf Bechtold and Co. of Wiesbaden, titled "Spielkarte für Schützen," which translates roughly to "Shooters Playing Cards" in English, with original designs not only to the court cards, but to the pip cards and Aces. The Aces and pip cards have sharpshooting targets in the center of each, and portray different "hits" on the targets depending upon the card value. The designs of each suit are the same (i.e., all Aces the same, all Kings the same, etc.), although the red suits have red targets and the black suits have black ones. Fournier indicates that these were made on the occasion of the "39th Worlds Championship for Small Arms" in Wiesbaden in 1966, but I do not see anything referencing the event on the cards or plastic box that houses them.

The deck is a skat deck, complete at 32 cards. The cards are slightly wide bridge size, measuring 90mm x 60mm, and they come in a plastic box that may be original. Affixed to the box is a small piece of paper with details about the deck, and while it seems clear that the paper was issued with the cards, it is not clear that it was originally pasted to the box.

The cards are "as new," and the box is in excellent condition, without issues.
