Wonderful game called simply "The Wheel," made by Kerametric, apparently a company based in Boston. I have been unable to find out anything about "The Wheel" or for that matter about Kerametric. It is the first one of these I have ever seen, although it is conceptually a near relative of the Universal "Courtette" wheel, also for sale in this shop. The "Courtette" wheel is also a bit of a mystery, but the cards on that wheel can be dated, and I have decided to date "The Wheel" shortly after the likely/presumed date of the "Courtette" wheel.
This wheel is 7.5" in diameter and has all 52 cards, but only the indices. It is made of a light metal, with some kind of celluloid or linoleum material for the white circle with the cards on it. It is on a wood base, and spins quite freely, with a plastic strip at the top that brings the wheel to a stop. It stands approximately 10" high from the bottom of the base, and the base is approximately 8" wide. The board is accompanied by a felt cloth, much the texture of the table surface for roulette that can be found at casinos. There is also a small piece of paper with the rules of play – such as they are. The wheel, felt and rule sheet come in the original box, plain red except for the name, catalogue number, and maker of the game.
The board is in excellent condition, except that 2 "teeth" are missing (i.e., between a 3 and a 5). The felt mat is also in excellent condition. The rule sheet is intact but with some slight soiling. The box is in very good condition.
It seems to me that you could pay poker with this wheel as well, with the spin of the wheel comparable to drawing a card.
Thanks for visiting.
