Solleone "Napoleone" Playing Cards, Studio Tratto di Menegazzi Designs, c.1971

Elegant and beautiful set of "Napoleon" cards, created and designed by Studio Tratto di Menegazzi of Milan c.1971. The World Web Playing Card Museum identifies Solleone as the maker of the cards (WWPCM #07371), and I have adopted that attribution, but there is nothing on the cards or box to confirm that fact. Napoleon and Josephine are the King and Queen of Hearts; I believe that the remaining court cards depict generic military ranks/figures and uniform styles of the Napoleonic era. The letter "N" is incorporated into each of the suit symbols.

The deck is complete at 40 cards -- Ace, 2-7, K, Q, and J in each suit. The cards are thin and long, measuring 120mm x 35mm, with square corners, and come in the original orange box.

The cards are "as new," and the box is very nearly so.
