Flemming-Wiskott A.G. Skat Playing Cards, Saxon Pattern, Hänsom Zigarette Adv., c.1930
Mint, wrapped deck of what I assume are skat cards, made by Flemming Wiskott A.G. of Glogau c.1930, advertising Hänsom cigarettes, apparently a brand made by Dresden cigarette maker Jasmatzi & Söhne. Flemming-Wiskott began making playing cards in 1924 and went out of existence in 1932; obviously, this deck dates within that period. The tax stamp on the Ace of Hearts is a tax stamp in use during the years 1929-1931, and so I have dated the deck to the midpoint of that range. I can see very little of the deck, but it has German suits, and from the Daus of Hearts that shows through the wrapper, I am reasonably certain that the cards are the Saxon pattern. The backs have Hänsom advertising.
From the thickness of the deck, I assume it is a skat deck with 32 cards. The cards are long, measuring 102mm x 59mm. As noted, they are wrapped, and come in the original box.
The cards are in mint condition, and the box is in superb condition.
