I believe that this lovely majolica pottery compote was made by Davenport. I was just at the Scott Antique Show in Atlanta and there were tons of the green majolica plates for sale but not a single green compote that I saw. The top part is about 10 1/4 inches across and it stands about 5 1/4 inches tall. There are two glaze rubs along the outer edge of the top plate and thin glaze at the base of the foot. These can all be seen in the photographs. There are no chips or cracks. The glaze has the wonderful iridescent sheen and the dark pooling of the glaze that makes it so loved by many.
