Vintage 1960s Henri Bendel Abstract Floral Print Silk Dress S
The label reads "Young-Timers, Henri Bendel, New York, Palm Beach, Southhampton". When Henri Bendel introduced the "Young Timers" department to his Manhattan store in 1941 and to the Palm Beach store soon after, the goal was to (as the Palm Beach Post put it) design "for price rather than for specific ages, presenting smart good clothes at an inexpensive cost for the ready-to-wear figure".
By the late 50s, though, Bendel's expensive custom salons were a thing of the past and the Young Timers shop (which had expanded to occupy an entire floor and offer accessories and jewelry as well as clothing) became known less for budget-friendliness than as a more youthful fashion option.
Dress measurements are: Bust 37", waist 27.5", hips free, bodice length 17.5", and overall length 43.5".
Excellent condition, with no flaws to note.
