Vintage 70s Rizkallah for Malcolm Starr Green Chiffon Gown S/M
The first chiffon overlay falls in a swingy, full-length trapeze shape, and the second, top layer begins with a bodice-enhancing ruffle in front, which then angles to a floating, voluminous cape behind.
A panel of nude chiffon backs the sheer green top of the bodice, and extends into nude green "straps" in back. The "cape" closes at the back of the neck with a single hook and eye, concealing the back metal zipper set into the gown underneath, which runs from mid-back to the low hip.
Lined in green satin and labelled "Rizkallah for Malcolm Starr", the gown also has a Saks Fifth Avenue store label, as well as a fabric care label (with dry cleaning instructions) and the red and blue ILGWU tag in use from 1974 to 1995. The Egyptian-born Rizkallah designed for Malcolm Starr until 1975, and this particular gown was shown in the spring 1974 collection.
Measurements are: Bust 37", empire waist 30", hips 43", bodice length 12" and overall length 58" (all measurements but the overall length apply to the undergown). Excellent condition; a broken thread loop at the back of the neck has been professionally repaired.
