Vintage 40s/50s Novelty Theater Print Pink Rayon Blouse M

Lovely vintage late 40s/early 50s rayon blouse celebrates the performing arts with a theater- or opera-themed novelty print in rose, green, white and black on a beige pink ground. The motifs--which resemble ink sketches with bold, impressionistic daubs of color-- include drama masks, harps, theater boxes, stages, opera glasses, and sheet music.

Styled with a tie-neck and long sleeves that gather at the buttoned cuffs, the blouse closes with a combination of 2 snaps (at the neck and waist) and 3 pearly plastic buttons. It is shaped with small bust darts as well as (front and back) a vertical pleat/dart combination at the sides of the waist. Meant to be worn tucked in, the blouse has a pinked hem, stitched around to prevent fraying.

No manufacturer or size label is present. Exact measurements are: Bust 40", shoulders 16", waist 34", sleeves 23" and length 23".

Professionally dry cleaned, it is in good condition with discoloration (a slightly darker, yellowish tone) down the sleeves (photos #5 and #7)and at the back of the neck.
