Vintage 30s French Black Suede Cloth Evening Purse w/Jadeite Clasp

Made in France, this vintage 1930s black evening purse in ultra-soft suede cloth features a chased gilt brass frame and snap-over clasp ornamented with a jadeite cabochon. The chasing on the frame has a stylized sunburst or ray pattern.

The tight shirring of the cloth underneath the frame yields to gentle pleats in the body of the purse, which has a fingerstrap on one side and a tab to hold as you open the frame on the other.

Lined in black satin, the purse is embossed "Paris, Made in France" with a heraldic logo on one of the two open sidewall pockets. Measuring 5 ½" by 7", with the fingerstrap 2 ½" long, the purse is in very good condition, with wear to the gilt wash on the frame (slight dulling to the exterior and a coppery sheen on the interior).
