Vintage late 40s maroon silk wide tie from Cardinal Neckwear features an all over abstract geometric print with blue, yellow and white circles that appear to be a cross between a dartboard and a pizza pie. The blades are tipped in olive green satin.
Label reads "Custom Neckwear, Cardinal, 557 Fifth Ave. New York". By the time of its bankruptcy in 1962, Cardinal had expanded to a 9-shop chain in Miami, Chicago, and Boston in addition to its Manhattan base.
Measuring 51" long by 4.25" across the front blade, the tie is in good condition, with the tie itself in excellent shape but a ¾" tear (invisible when worn) to the lining in back of the front blade; see photo #4.
