Vintage early 1950s wide tie in green rayon satin features tonally jacquarded diamond designs as well as an abstract floral print in rust, gold and white.
Tipped in white satin, the tie is labelled "Panels King Size, Resilient". Panel ties were a style of tie popular at the time, with a printed design arranged vertically down the blades, as well as the clever name of the company that made this particular example. Literally hundreds of tie manufacturers sprang up in the post-WWII period and proliferated into the 1950s, but thus far I have been unable to learn more about the Panels neckwear company.
Measuring 50" long and 4.5" across the blade, the tie is in excellent condition.
