This 18 inch tall doll has obviously been cut and sewn from a printed sheet of cotton fabric. He reminds me of a variation of a Palmer Cox Brownie. My guess is that he was printed in the early 20th century. I have never seen this particular printed rag doll before. The original owner/seamstress along with cutting, sewing, and stuffing this doll, has also embroidered highlights with red wool yarn. The facial features, hair, and clothing are printed on the fabric. The mischievous little guy is in good clean sturdy condition.
