"Bear Brand Hosiery" Advertising Cut and Sew Cloth Teddy Bear
This little 9 inch tall bear was an advertising promotion of the Bear Brand Hosiery Company of Chicago, Illinois circa 1920s. The lithographed bear is 9 inches tall and would have come as a sheet of fabric that could be sewn and stuffed to make the bear. I will include a printout of the original promotion that reads, "`My name is Benny, //I'm a little Cloth Bear, //I'll come to your house//If you'll just pay the fare.' Send 10[cents] to Bear Brand Hosiery Co., Chicago. Benny Bear will come right away." Included with the stuffed bear are an original Bear Brand Hosiery Box and a pair of their stockings. Who could ask for more?
