This 15 inch tall doll, circa the 1920s-30s, has a molded felt face with hand painted facial features including brown side glancing eyes. I am not sure of the country of origin of this doll but she does bear a striking resemblance to the Italian Lenci dolls of the period. She is not a Lenci but was probably created in competition with the company. The doll is in all original condition. She has an all cloth body jointed at the shoulders and hips. The costume is simply wonderful and is in excellent clean condition with bright colors and little or no fading. The doll has black leather heeled boots and a brown mohair wig in original set with a braided bun in the back. She carries a white ceramic pitcher in her left hand. The pitcher, with blue decoration and a small chip on the top rim, is original to the doll. She also has a paper Christmas gift tag tied to her right wrist. The tag says, "Merry Christmas" and is signed J. Sherman. What a great doll with a fabulous costume!!
