This doll is 33 inches tall with a 10 ½ tall papier mache shoulder head. The head is in good condition with painted facial features and blonde molded and painted hair. The face has no repaint or repair. There is a small repainted area to the lower back left edge of the shoulder plate and there may be some old repaint to the hair on the back of the head. I am not sure about the hair as it blends very well and may just have been the way she was originally molded and painted. There is some slight wear to the finish on the nose and some craze lines on the face. The body is cloth jointed at the shoulders, hips, and knees. The lower arms are leather. The clean and sturdy body is older but not as old as the doll. I do believe the leather arms are antique. This doll wears a wonderful antique cotton print dress with white cotton antique underclothing. An antique wool cape complements this outfit along with great antique red leather shoes. The doll created by Ludwig Greiner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the mid 1800s. She still bears her original paper label on the back of her shoulder plate stating, "GREINER'S// PATENT DOLL HEADS. //No. 13//Pat. March 30.Ext.'72." This is a grand a lovely lady from Pennsylvania.
