This 21 inch tall doll, circa the 1930s, was created by the Alexander Doll Company. She has a composition shoulder head with a cloth body and composition lower arms and legs. The doll has her original mohair curly wig with sleep eyes and an open mouth with teeth. The composition is in good condition except or some flaking on the sides of the lower legs. The body is in good sturdy clean condition. There is no repaint or repair to the composition. There is a possibility that someone in the distant past has added red to the lips but I just can't tell. The doll wears her original costume including white cotton underclothing and a light yellow organdy dress. She also retains her original shoes and socks. The dress bears the original tag stating, "Madame Alexander//New York." This doll bears a striking resemblance to the Ideal composition Shirley Temple dolls. She may have been created by Madame Alexander to compete with the celebrity doll by their competitor. In any case, she is a darling mama doll.
