This 20 ½ inch tall composition baby doll, circa the 1930s-40s, has a composition flange neck head, lower arms and legs, and a cloth body jointed at the shoulders and hips. The doll has her original brunette mohair wig, sleep eyes, and a closed mouth. The entire doll is in very good condition with no repaint or repair to the composition. The cloth body has a non-working crier in the torso. The doll wears her all original dress, matching bonnet, and underclothing. When I purchased this little darling, she was identified as a Madame Alexander "Little Genius." She does look like photographs of this doll that I have seen but, since neither the doll nor the clothing is marked, I am not going to definitely identify her as made by the Madame. She may have been a doll made by a competing manufacturer. In any case, she is a charming baby doll just waiting to be welcomed into a new home.
