I just love this little 300 series boy and have long wanted to own him. He looks like a dutiful little gentleman all dressed up for a special event. I love the felt stripes of his pants – such a great example of the very appealing Lenci costumes from the early days of the company. He is all original including his brown leather shoes. Italian, circa 1930, series 300. He is from the Alexandra and Sidney Sheldon doll collection and was in their private doll museum in California.
He has a swivel head with pressed and painted facial features, brown mohair wig, painted feathered eyebrows, curly upper lashes, brown painted side-glancing eyes, jointed hips and shoulders. He wears a fitted brown felt jacket with metal buttons, a white shirt with black tie, brown felt shorts with a geometric pattern of felt strips, wool socks, brown leather shoes and a brown cap. He is all original, in very good condition with no touch up to his face. I do not undress Lenci dolls as their costumes are form fitting and may tear in the effort. Unlike composition bodies any damage to the felt body that does not show is very unlikely. His height is 17inches.
