This rare fine porcelain circa 1920 Art Deco figurine is marked with the incised fox and name of the Schwarzburger factory. My significant price reduction makes her a steal for the discriminating buyer. It additionally has the number I could not photograph it due to the recessed base and the incised marks without color. The base is incised on the outside with the name of the artist L Sonnleitner. I found this piece at an antiques show in St. Petersburg, Russia at which porcelain (German and Russian) was plentiful, but no antique dolls. This little charmer happily clutches her own little doll. The Russian dealer I purchased from identified this as a rare piece and the best of the very good pieces I was buying.
The figure is 5.25 inches tall and 2 inches wide at the base. It has no chips, repairs or other damage. The little girl strongly suggests the dynamic period that she came from with her cloche hat and free and feisty attitude. This is not the charming demure little girl of earlier times. It would be a lovely addition to a porcelain or character doll collection.
