Gebruder Heubach was a well known dollmaker of Thuringia Germany. He is also known for porcelain figurines of artistic quality. This large size of a white shaggy dog is a good example of the Heubach figurines of the early 20th century. Note the beautiful intaglio eyes and the distinct modeling of the fur, in particular around the face. From all angles the excellent detail and "early from the mold" quality of the model is apparent. The dog has a slight impression of the Heubach insignia barely visible that I could not get a good picture of. Clearly, he is by Heubach as a look at the smaller marked dog listed on our site demonstrates. Big boy is 8.5" tall. The only imperfection is a small firing line in the fold of fur, which I show in the last picture.
Also see the smaller version JF A27b if you want to have a "parent & child-" dog. I am biased toward that idea from owning a number of such pairs in real life.
