The rose isn't really wild; it's simply beautiful. The title is a take-off on an old song (see below). The 2-1/2-inch pendant is strung with copper Bali-style beads and Chinese turquoise rounds and ovals treated with an infusion of gold pyrite. The necklace is 21-1/2 inches around, with a pendant drop of 2 inches, and fastens with a large copper hook clasp.
"My wild Irish Rose, the sweetest flower that grows. You may search everywhere, but none can compare with my wild Irish Rose..."
"They may sing of their roses, which by other names, Would smell just as sweetly, they say, But I know that my Rose would never consent To have that sweet name taken away. Her glances are shy whene'er I pass by The bower where my true love grows. And my one wish has been that some day I may win The heart of my wild Irish Rose."
Well, if that doesn't make you want to buy this gorgeous piece, I don't know what will. Whatever you decide, please know that I appreciate your visit and your interest.
