Orchid Essence Necklace "Guardian of the Inner Journey," 23 Inches

This beautiful necklace, featuring an agate slice pendant set in rhodium plating, was created with beads of mahogany obsidian, black tourmaline and black onyx, with lots and lots of sterling silver. The necklace is 23 inches around, with a pendant drop of 2-1/4 inches, and closes with an exquisite Turkish sterling silver leaf hook clasp.

The orchid essence infused into this necklace is called "Guardian of the Inner Journey" or Paphiopedilum Helvetia. This essence gives one the courage to look at the shadows and fears which inhibit progress on one's spiritual journey. It is a deeply serious essence, which can be taken to enhance meditation.

The orchids from which the essences are drawn are grown at Achamore House on the island of Gigha in Scotland. Full credit is given to Don Dennis of Achamore House for the orchids and their essences, descriptions and photographs. (I unwittingly almost thanked him for all of the photographs, but he declined my invitation to fly over and take the snapshots of my jewelry.)
