Pretty carved and (presumably) dyed turquoise leaves highlight this choker-length necklace of stabilized Chinese turquoise round beads, separated by Tibetan silver nuggets. The piece is 18-1/2 inches around, including the handsome sterling flower and leaf hook clasp.
The largest leaf measures 52 by 24mm, and the round beads are 8mm. Tibetan silver is a lead-free zinc alloy which resembles sterling. There is no photograph of the backs of the leaves because they are the same on both sides.
A lot of my turquoise jewelry is higher priced, due to the components involved, so I thought I would offer a more moderately priced piece this time.
Thank you for your interest. P.S. This piece was created while a baby lizard was loose in the house. I still haven't been able to capture him and I have no idea how he got in, in the first place. I have opened no doors today because it's been snowing like crazy. Aren't lizards supposed to be hibernating at this time of the year? All I can say is that I hope he doesn't decide to share my bed tonight. If you hear a scream, you'll know what caused it. Pray for me.
