The Zuni were masters of petti or petit point style of jewelry making using turquoise and sterling silver. The technique they used created some of the most intricate and gorgeous jewelry. These earrings shapes remind me of sheriff's badges used in the old west. The turquoise are all a beautiful blue color.
The earrings are signed with a Bell hanging on a sign post which is the mark of Bell Trading of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company was founded in 1935 selling arts and craft including wonderful jewelry made by Native Americans. the doors closed in the 1980s.
