Victorian Book Chain Hardstone Cameo Necklace

Fresh from a Downeast Maine estate is this wonderful book chain necklace with a hard stone cameo. The book chain gets it's name from the shape of the links. Each link has a stamped pattern and connects to the next link with a concealed loop which is very flexible and easy to wear. The clasp most often is located at the top of the cameo element and is also concealed. Suspended from the cameo are a pair of 'tassels'. This is a classic and very popular style of the era. The stone cameo is a profile facing to the left, a bit generic as most were in this style of necklace.

Condition: Very good vintage condition, showing only minor age commensurate wear, all original with absolutely no damages, blemishes or alterations. The clasp is in perfect working order.

Dimensions: The necklace alone measures 16 3/4", plus the cameo and tassels are an additional 2".
