19th C Opaline Glass Epergne with Gilded Feet

A lovely, petite epergne with a distinct Art Nouveau feel from the sinuous curves of its legs to the bulbous shape of its trumpet arm. But it's the gilded tripod foot which really sets it apart from others made just of glass. The floral decoration is cold painted with red-orange flowers that resemble poppies, and white ones that are distinctly raised and look like strawberry flowers. Almost certainly Continental, and my guess would be French, for the French were masters at producing this lovely Opaline glass.

CONDITION is outstanding, with some wear to the gilded rings that decorate the arm and circumscribe the shallow belly of the bowl. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. Amazing...no? Measures 8 3/4" tall.

A beautiful piece of glass. I can't think of a prettier way to display a few seasonal blooms. Enjoy!
