This lovely French Provincial style sofa has been newly upholstered in a wonderful cotton toile fabric. The frame is curvy and graceful with undulating wooden accents around the back, arms, and bottom front... the design really has a lot of movement, with a rich warm glow. Supported by three well proportioned hand carved legs in front, with two out-curved legs in back. I believe the wood is cherry, but I'm not absolutely certain.
Toile is a natural here, in a versatile colorway of light khaki and aubergine. The print has a garden theme with urns and lots of animals... dogs, rabbits, and stags. The abundant tufting is a beautiful, costly detail, and there's double piping everywhere, too. The cushion is plushy and comfortable with a deep Dacron wrap.
CONDITION is great, no apologies. But please remember this is an old piece... it has an appealing warm patina, and an odd ding here and there. This is a long sofa, measuring 88" overall, outside arm to outside arm. The height is 34½" at the center of the back, the overall depth is 35". and the seat has a 23" depth.
Comfortable and commodious, the cotton toile fabric is warm, friendly, and a perfect complement to the French provincial style of this piece. Have a seat. Relax. Enjoy!
