Antique Copeland Spode Earthenware Charger or Large Chop Plate with Molded Floral Decoration, Transfers, and Hand Painting
A versatile serving piece, these big round platters are sometimes referred to as Chop Plates, but are endlessly useful for nearly any serving task… your prettiest cookies, a grilled veggie platter, or even something that has a little juice since there is a center well and rim.
Condition is very nice with just s few of the most minor nibbles to the iron red painted edge and a few glaze pops. This charger dates to sometime between 1891 and the first decade or so of the 20th C, and bears the mark of the retailer W H Plummer & Co. - New York. Measures an ample 12 7/8" in diameter.
So make up your guest list and get those invitations out... or simply surprise the family with some elegantly served treats. Enjoy!
