Victorian Painted and Ruffled Opaline Glass Dish with Bronze Wireware Mount - Card Receiver - Vanity Tray

This beautiful clear blue always reminds me of spring... robin's eggs, bachelor buttons, and fair blue skies.

This lovely piece of mouth blown, ruffled glass was painted and then mounted in a unique bronze mount that was created especially for its individual shape and size.

CONDITION is great with only the most minor wear to the paint. Circa 1880 - 1900. Measures 6 1/2" across at it's widest, and 3 1/4" tall at it's tallest.

Perfect for, and probably used as, a card receiver in the days when leaving your 'visiting card' was de rigueur, today you might use it as a vanity tray to catch a stray brooch or few cotton balls. Or you might even use it as a charming anachronism to hold business cards on your desk... imagine!
