Czech Tea Service w/ Rosebud Finials - Hand Painted - Victoria China Czechoslovakia - 1918 - 1939
Condition is excellent, with most of the pieces looking to be seldom, if ever, used. They are all translucent and transmit light. There is minor wear to the thin green border on a couple of the pieces, and a few stray smudges of green that are testament to their hand manufacture, adding a bit of character. The large squat pot has two tiny nibbles on the inside bottom flange of the lid that sits down inside the pot, with this pot also showing a faint line on the top white rim under the lid that I cannot feel at all, shown in the last two pictures. Please look at the pictures. This set displays beautifully. All five pieces are marked on the bottom "Victoria China Czechoslovakia"; this version of the mark was used from 1918 - 1939. The big squat pot is 4" tall to the top of the rose finial, and handle to spout is 8 1/2". The two tall pots are 6 1/2" and 5 3/4" tall, and 6 7/8" and 4 1/2" handle to spout respectively. The sugar is 3" tall and 5 1/4" handle to handle, and the creamer is 2 1/4" tall and 4 1/2" handle to spout.
This is such a cheerful set, the brilliant color and figural rosebuds bring a bit of sunshine to even the chilliest winter day. These pieces will be a standout in your china cabinet, or set out on a blue tablecloth... well, Monet would be proud. Cheers.
