Young Girl Playing the Piano - Etching by Eileen Alice Soper
This sweet little etching is signed in pencil, "Eileen A Soper". The listed British artist and illustrator, Eileen Alice Soper (1905 - 1990) is known for her images of children and animals.
Condition is very nice. The piece is framed in a simple gilt wooden molding with a French mat. The mat only, has two tiny spots of foxing and a teensy water mark on the lower right corner, but I never really noticed it before I took the photographs. Please look at the pictures. Measures 14 1/2" X 11 3/4" overall, and the sight size of the image inside the mat is 7 3/4" x 4 7/8".
A lovely piece to hang by a piano or in a music room. I can't think of a nicer way to motivate a child to practice! But the charming innocence of this piece will steal anyone's heart.
