Antique Hunt Print - 19th C English Equestrian Hand Colored Aquatint - 1877

This handsome19th c British hunt print is entitled "Morning. Going to Cover" and shows two riders on their mounts on a misty autumn morning, surrounded by their hounds ... no fox in sight. A classic equestrian theme. A few russety leaves cling to the trees overhead which form a canopy around this appealing scene.

Engraved by F G Hester after an 1877 painting by E A S Douglas, and published the same year by Arthur Ackermann in London. This print is hand colored and framed in a lovely wooden molding, black and gold, that is well matched to the subject in mood and visual weight.

CONDITION is grand, this is a beautiful antique piece. The frame shows minor wear. Measures 22 1/2" x 28" overall, has a sight size of 19" x 24 3/8", and an image size of 15 5/8" x 19 3/4".

This lovely antique print evokes country estates and days spent in the company of horses and hounds. Perfect for a library, an office, or any classic setting. Enjoy!
