This handsome19th c British hunt print is entitled "Morning. Going to Cover" and shows two riders on their mounts on a misty autumn morning, surrounded by their hounds ... no fox in sight. A classic equestrian theme. A few russety leaves cling to the trees overhead which form a canopy around this appealing scene.
Engraved by F G Hester after an 1877 painting by E A S Douglas, and published the same year by Arthur Ackermann in London. This print is hand colored and framed in a lovely wooden molding, black and gold, that is well matched to the subject in mood and visual weight.
CONDITION is grand, this is a beautiful antique piece. The frame shows minor wear. Measures 22 1/2" x 28" overall, has a sight size of 19" x 24 3/8", and an image size of 15 5/8" x 19 3/4".
