Valjean Joshevema (Lomaheftewa) Sr ~ Hopi Overlay ~ Sterling & Silver Dollar ~ Bracelet
Here's an Important and Rare Sterling Silver Bracelet Hand Wrought by Hopi Elder, Valjean Joshevema Sr. Mr. Joshevema was taught by Paul Saufkie, Fred Kabotie and the Hopi Silvercraft Guild in 1948. He is documented in the Schaaf, Hougart, and Wright books, in addition to other publications. This Handsome piece features a 1922 Silver Dollar, accented on the sides by Joshevema's Overlay and stamp work. It is fully hallmarked for Valjean Joshevema Sr, and tested for Sterling Silver.
Nice Size, this Exceptional Bracelet measures 1 5/8" wide at the front, tapering to 15/16" at the terminals. The linear interior measure is 5" with a 1 3/8" gap. It fits a medium sized woman's wrist, or a small man's wrist, and weighs in at a 87.4 grams.
Condition is Vintage Excellent.
