We were thrilled to find this wonderful Old (late 19th century) Sterling silver pill box. Unger Bros were/are World Famous for their incredible deep repousse, art nouveau designs. We've seen pics of this Indian Chief in full head dress, but we've never owned one before. The detail is amazing. We don't know if the soldered loop in the back was added later, or original to the piece. It must have been worn on a Chatelaine. It was gold plated inside, as the lid interior still has the gold wash, but the bowl does not. It is fully signed for Unger Bros.

Measurements are 1 5/8" at the widest part of the bowl x 7/8" high with the lid closed. It weighs 16.5 gms.

Condition is Excellent. There is one teensy dimple on the bottom, along with other indications of gentle use, but they do not detract, and are mentioned for accuracy. The Indian Face and the lid in general is in amazing pristine condition, as are the sides, except for the question of the soldered loop.
