Late 19th Century Royal Bonn Cheese Dish bearing the mark of Franz Anton Mehlem of Bonn Germany on the inside of the lid and under the underplate. This mark was used between 1870-1920. Colors of pink, orange-red, yellow, lavender, light blue and teal comprise this transfer and hand-painted floral decoration on all four sides. Measures 6 3/8" X 7 1/2" (underplate) and cover is 4 1/2" X 5 7/8" and angles to 3 5/8" high. The bottom of the cover to the top of the handle is approximately 4". There are some minor age cracks (none go through) and staining, but no chips or cracks, and has original gilding -- please see photos. Since most Royal Bonn semi-porcelain is commonly found as clock cases, this is a great piece for collectors. Weighs over two pounds.
