STERLING Top Cut Glass Muffineer [Sugar Shaker]

Beautifully Cut Strawberry Diamond and Fan Cut Glass Muffineer [Sugar Shaker] with Sterling Top. The pattern repeats six times. There is a sterling collar on the glass jar, marked "Sterling". The removable pierced top is also marked "Sterling". There are 3 small dents in the top--see photos. Measures 4 1/4" to the top of the collar; 5" high with the sterling top on. The 2 1/8" round base has a polished bottom. The sterling top weighs 18 grams, and the entire piece weighs over 9 ounces. There is a very small [1/16" X 3/16" long] flake inside one of spikes of the fan design. You can see the glass is handblown, and there are minor scratches on the bottom from use. Originally used for sprinkling Sugar. Can also be used for Hatpin display. The top has 13 holes. Dates circa 1890s. A lovely, useful item!
