This is a solid Cast Brass "Ring" Pattern Frame made in England circa 1880-1890. Overall it measures approximately 5 1/4" X 7 3/4" high; cabinet card photo/glass area 4 1/4" X 6 1/2". It has uniform thin rings, with the corners having a larger size ring curving back. The area framing the photo has a convex [curved outward] profile, and it maintains its original velvet back-the other side having patterned silk, that has shredded with use. The glass, photo and velvet back simply slide in. These frames have been reproduced; this is an original period frame, NOT a reproduction.
