Antique flying Bat hat pin black glass with gold luster
Antique molded black glass flying bat hat pin. According to David Doty's carnival glass website this piece is unusual. The glass measures 2" x 1 1/2". The bat is highly detailed. Above the wings is a gold luster sky with 5 stars. Below the wings are gold luster facets. There are no chips or flecks in the glass, the glass is in excellent condition. There is minimal loss of the gold luster along the top edge. The pin stem measures 7" long. You can see a blob of dried glue where the stem is inserted into the glass. This piece was obviously re glued onto the pin stem. I do not know if the pin stem is original to the piece.
