Antique Russian Icon depicting "St. George the Warrior", 19th century
This is a Russian depicting the martyr George, widely known as George the Warrior. He is depicted as an armored cavalry man who is piercing the dragon with a spear. On either side are two Saints. The Icon is very fine crafted and shows rich detail and adornment.The Icon is painted tempera on wood and has soft red, green and brown tones.It is in perfect condition and dated at the 19th century.
