Antique Gilt Bronze table clock adorned with blue enamel signed Jean Morel, first half 19th century

This is a lovely Gilt Bronze clock adorned with blue enamel. It is a very fine work ,the clock has fine deep blue enamel letters and is glazed. It is surrounded by a fine blue enamel circle in which the letters are written " Dieu et mon droit"(=" God and my right"which is the motto of the coat of arms of the British monarchs). Inside the clocks is signed by Jean Morel 1794-1860.He was born in Paris and worked for the nobility. Later he moved to London where he became a supplier of queen Victoria. As the clock bears the motto of the British monarchs ,it could be that it was crafted for the British court. The clock is functional but does not work and needs cleaning. We have decided to leave it in its original condition. The clock is sold together with its original key. The condition of the table clock is excellent and it is dated at the first half of the 19th century . Length: 5.1"(130mm) Height: 3.9"(100mm)
