19th century painting oil on canvas depicting the Holy Virgin and Child
Painting of the Holy Virgin holding the little Jesus in a romantic landscape. The Madonna is represented as a youthful mother and wears a deeply saturated blue mantle over a red garment.Her head is covered with a white linen veil. She hold the Christ child who is grasping a rose. The Madonna and the little Jesus are taken in an intimate moment of tenderness.
The painting is oil on canvas, very fine crafted and in perfect condition without repair.
Superb is also the frame which was crafted and signed by an Austrian sculptor. It is made of wood and gilded with gold leaf. A superb work.
The painting can be dated at the second half of the 19th century.
