Found in Paris, but from the Black Forest very likely, an amazing Tramp Art box circa 1880-1900 made of innumerable layers of tooled wood all stacked up on each other, to form a variety of fun shapes. The front, the top, the back and the sides are all different.
The box is not only amazing outside, it is also exceptional inside, with a thick pink velvet that has not aged at all, with no stains or no fading.
The box has its original key and closes well.
Genuine Tramp Art boxes from the 19th Century are hot collectibles, and bring A LOT of character to any decor!

CONDITION: In very good condition. Minor losses in the (tiny) upper layers, hardly noticeable.
Some of these tiny upper layers tend to swivel, but once in place, they stay there.
We decided to bend the top of the small nails sticking out, where the upper layers were missing, instead of cutting them off, to allow for further repair, in case you decide to do these small restorations later.
Will be shipped "EXPEDITED" from Paris (5-7 days) including online tracking (US, Canada, Europe) insurance and signature at delivery.
