Antique Tortoise Shell French Cross Pendant Tortoiseshell LARGE Gold PIQUE Fleur de Lis Stars NAPOLEON III 19th C Century DIVINE

I must say I was stunned when I found it. It is divine!

Exceptional because of its size (3.1"), but also because of its rare fleur de lis motif in the center, surrounded by a multitude of adorable little stars!

The base is a very thick, tortoiseshell, super dark for the pique contrast, and slightly curved in the middle.

The piece is nearly intact (see Condition description) and all the stars are present.

This is very low carat gold, as nearly always with pique decor. It does not even test positive for 9k, so it is below that, probably 7 or 8 which could be found at the time.

The piece which can be worn by men or women, can also be hanged on a wall, or displayed with a collection of antique artifacts.

An absolute treasure to keep very preciously.

CONDITION: In very good condition. Could not be better for its age! One small chip at the very bottom (corner) and one also very small on the side. One scratch at the back. Tortoiseshell at the front still very shiny.
