Antique French VICTORIAN CARVED Box 19th C Century Wooden Casket Compass Rose Initials RARE
The box, which is fairly large, features the initials "Q" and "G" on both sides of a large, totally unusual, compass rose.
It is a sturdy fir tree construction, with geometrical motifs on top and at the front. The other sides have no carving.
A rare and totally unique antique artifact!
CONDITION: In very good condition. Clean inside. Steady. Closes well. Minor split under the box, at the back. Surface only.
MEASUREMENTS: Length: 11 3/4'. Width: 8". Height: 4 1/2".
