Vintage Large FRENCH Painting PARIS Bridge At Dusk Signed TO DIE FOR!
The atmosphere is quite surreal and has a Magritte touch to it, in the unusual balance between daylight and night.
The buildings are illuminated, (this is the Palace of Justice on the Left Bank of the river Seine) and this warm glow makes a fantastic contrast with the dark waters and the large black cloud above.
The Bonaparte bridge has a huge "N" engraved on its pillars (Napoleon was there!)
Although Paris has long been replaced by any town in hydro electricity-rich British Columbia as the "City of Lights", you could not tell from this painting, as the symphony of lights in the piece is pure enchantment!
This interpretation of Paris at night appeared in the mid 80s in painting and also photographs and postcards of the city, with the emergence of brand new methods of monuments illumination.
A strong vision of Paris, vibrant and beautiful!
MEASUREMENTS: Length: 24 1/2". Width: 19 1/2".
CONDITION: In very good condition.
The horizontal mark in the wood panel at the back is completely superficial, and I have added a pic of the edge that shows this is not a split in the wood at all.
Will be shipped Expedited from Paris (7 days guaranteed) with full insurance and signature at delivery. The piece is heavy and requires elaborate packaging.
