An outstanding French drawing from the mid 19th Century, circa 1850.
The piece is Incredibly detailed and was obviously done by a superior artist.
It shows a French country scene: a wooden bridge among ancient trees, crossing a small brook, with a peasant woman carrying wheat in a basket.
The woman wears one of these antique white bonnets we all love! , a long cotton skirt, a fichu, and wooden clogs.
The piece is done on artist's paper, with what seems like a thin charcoal pencil, and has been conceived like an antique vignette, with a kind of invisible circular limit.
The piece will will be perfect with many decors: Country French, Boudoir, Paris Apt, Rustic, Romantic, even Contemporary.
