Antique 19th Century ROSSLER Austrian Art NOUVEAU Original Litho Print Semi NUDE Ladies in Landscape WOW!
The piece was published in a luxury French Art magazine of the time: "Journal de la decoration" (similar to L'Estampe Moderne), and was not bound, but presented in a portfolio, with full margins.
The French wording: "par Rossler" implies this is an original lithograph created for the issue, and not an offset, which would have been "d'apres Rossler".
Rudolf Rossler (1864 – 1934), is a listed Austrian artist, with works in Museums and selling at Sotheby's etc. (You will find him on Askart)
The artwork has been nicely strengthened with cream linen at the back, which has protected it to this day.
All the famous characteristics of Art Nouveau are present: Elegant femininity, a Mediterranean landscape with cyprus, stage lighting on some characters' faces, a red haired lady with an intense gaze, crowns of flowers for the children, etc.
The piece is called "ADAGIO" with the letters inscribed in stone. For the finishing touch, Rossler has added blooming roses at the bottom!
CONDITION: Remarkable. No damage.
MEASUREMENTS: Length: 13 3/4". Width: 9 3/4".
Will be shipped Expedited from Paris including insurance and signature at delivery.
